Hostel Accommodation


  1. Separate boys & girls hostel is available. The hostel rooms are fully equipped with adequate modern furniture & fixtures. The mattresses and bed sheets will be provided by the Institute.
  2. The facilities for recreation, indoor games, guest rooms, telephone, 24 hours water, electricity supply and medical facilities are available in the hostels. A central totally hygienic kitchen for hostels has been established.
  3. No girl student staying in the hostel will remain outside the hostel after 7:00 pm in summer and 6:00 pm in winter.
  4. Night roll call will be taken between 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
  5. All girls must report to the warden during this time for marking the attendance.
  6. Free Wi-Fi facility is available in hostel. Gym facility is available in hostel.

Hostel Room Allotment


  1. The student must be personally present at the time of allotment of rooms. Rooms to be allotted will be specified immediately before an allotment is made.
  2. The student can choose their roommates and make request for allotment accordingly only initially.
  3. The boarder shall not to be entitled to retain accommodation in the Hostel beyond his/her normal of study.
  4. No boarder is allowed to change his/her room without the permission of the Warden.
  5. The boarder shall have to vacate accommodation as and when asked for.

Guests


  1. Guests are not permitted to stay in the hostel except in the case of father/brother & mother/ sister (in case of girl students) provided he/she comes from a far off place at odd hours. The students must get permission for keeping his/her guests in the hostel from the Chief Warden. The guests so allowed will be kept in the hostel guest-room. Their names will be entered in the guests register kept in the hostel
  2. Female guests are not permitted to stay in the boys' hostel.
  3. Likewise male guests are not allowed to stay in the girls' hostel. A boarder keeping a guest without permission is liable for punishment.

Electricity


  1. Light, fans and coolers must be switched off when not in use.
  2. The use of electric heater, electric rod, electric tea kettle, etc. and other similar appliances is prohibited
  3. Boarders are warned against tampering with electrical installation. For all electrical repairs the electrician should be called in.

Upkeep of the Hostel


  1. Hostellers are responsible for keeping their rooms clean and help in keeping common areas in the hostel such as visitor's area, bathrooms, stair case and common room etc. clean and tidy all the times.
  2. All fans, lights and electrical appliances must be switched off when not in use.
  3. Cooking, making tea, etc. is not allowed in the hostel rooms.
  4. Common hostel furniture must not be moved without the permission of the chief warden.
  5. Any damage to the hostel property must be reported immediately to the Warden/ Chief Warden. Defaulting hosteller will be charged for all damages except damages caused by normal wear and tear.
  6. Pasting of posters, writing, wall chalking, slogans of any kind or defacing the hostel in any form is not allowed.
  7. The hostel management reserves the right to make spot checks during day and night on the hostel and rooms without having to give prior notice to the students.
  8. Electrician, contractors or any other service person may enter the room as and when necessary in the course of their duty under the directive of the warden/ chief warden. However, every effort will be made to respect the privacy and dignity of the hosteller.
  9. The hostel management reserves the right to move hostellers to other hostel room/units if there is a necessity.

Emergency


  1. In case of any emergency please contact the Warden/Chief Warden or call hostel authorities.

Medical Facilities


  1. Hostellers should immediately inform the warden/ chief warden in case of any medical problem to get immediate first aid or general medicine from Medical Room.
  2. Ambulance, if necessary, will also be available to send the student to Guru Nanak Sadh Sangat Hospital, Kalra, on the advice of in-charge, Medical Room.

Furniture and Equipment


Every boarder is provided with a chair, a table and a cot, a book rack, a cupboard and bedding. He/ She will be responsible for these items and other electrical fittings etc. Furniture and electrical fittings are not to be removed from one room to another .Every boarder is to see that no damage is done to the hostel property .Fitting & repair charges for any damage (intentional or negligence) are to be borne by the boarder concerned.

Visitors


  1. Visitors including parents are allowed only into the visitors area of the hostel during the visitors hours as follows:
    • Weekend (Saturday)                                   3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
    • Weekend (Sunday) and holidays                 9:30 am to 4:00 pm
  2. All visitors must register at the guard house/ warden office and provide all details and documents as requested by Security before entering the hostel complex. All visitors must leave the hostel complex by the laid down timings.
  3. Hostellers are not permitted to allow their visitors into rooms at any time for whatever reason. Any hosteller found violating this rule will be evicted from the hostel and penalized.
  4. Non- hostel students are prohibited in the hostel without the permission of warden. The students who violate this will be answerable to the warden.

Leave Rules (Hostel)


Display of noisy, disorderly conduct, teasing, excitement by rude or rough treatment or handling, including rowdy, undisciplined activities which cause or likely to cause annoyance, physical or psychological harm or raise apprehensive fear in a fresher or asking a student to do any act or perform something which such a student will not do in the ordinary course and which causes him/her shame or embarrassment, danger to his/her life etc.
Depending upon the nature and gravity of the offence as established by the antiragging committee of the Institute, the possible punishments for those found guilty of ragging at the institution level shall be any one or any combination of the following:

  1. Cancellation of admission.
  2. Suspension from attending classes.
  3. Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits.
  4. Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation process.
  5. Debarring from representing the institution in any regional/national or international meet/tournament, youth festival etc.
  6. Suspension/expulsion from the hostel.
  7. Rustication from the institution for period ranging from one to four semesters.
  8. Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution.
  9. Fine of Rs. 25000/-
Affidavit by students and parents: Each student and his/her parents/guardian shall have to furnish in affidavit along with the application form to the effect they will not participate in or about the act of ragging and that if found guilty, shall be liable for punishment under penal law of India.
